The oil is good for the connective tissue in the skin. The oil contains a high level of Vitamin E. When you start making lip balms yourself, the Castor oil provides a nice shine on the lips.
Castor oil helps to keep the skin clean.
It is said that Castor oil contributes to normal hair growth.
Tips for use
The oil gives shine to the hair by rubbing your scalp and hair with this oil. Because the oil is quite thick, it can be nice to first mix the oil with another base oil such as coconut oil. Apply the mixture well to the scalp and the ends of the hair. Let the oil do its work for an hour and then wash well with a nourishing shampoo.
- Be careful when using the oil near the eyes, do not apply it too close to the edge of the eyelashes, both above and below the eye. This is because otherwise the oil can end up in the eyes.
- Be careful when mixing with an essential oil of your choice. Citrus oils are phototoxic and can discolour the skin when in contact with sunlight/UV rays. It is also better not to use hot oils in your mixture for your face. Hot oils are, oregano, cinnamon, cassia, thyme, cloves, peppermint, lemongrass. These oils can irritate the skin.
