As a somatic approach to wellness, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is known for its gentleness and effectiveness in treating various traumas and imbalances. It is of great importance here that the practitioner can enter a state of presence that is oriented to the client's inherent capacity to heal. The training involves the teaching of deep perception and centering skills, as well as the study of anatomy, physiology and the dynamics of primary breathing. In 'Fundamentals of Craniosacral Biodynamics', Franklyn Sills, a pioneer, offers students and practitioners a step-by-step guide to mastering the necessary skills. Drawing on developments since the publication of his first book, Franklyn Sills provides insightful discussions of theory and practice, along with a comprehensive set of exercises and studies covered in his accredited training.
Ingrid Claus followed part of the training with E. Peirsman and Marijke Baken and thus came into contact with the works of Franklyn Sills, which she found extremely fascinating. She translated this work out of sheer interest. She was increasingly told that there was a need for a Dutch translation and she actually wanted to share her result with others. She hopes that in this way many people will find access to this beautiful and respectful approach to the human being as a whole. Franklyn Sills is co-director of the Karuna Institute, a retreat or training center in craniosacral therapy and core process psychotherapy, a form of therapy that integrates Western developmental concepts with Buddhist psychology and practice.
